How to Create a Replication Plan in Disaster Recovery?
The Replication Plan in Ace Cloud Disaster Recovery allows you to safeguard your compute instances by continuously replicating them to a target site. This ensures data protection, minimal downtime, and quick recovery in case of failures.
Follow the steps below to create a Replication Plan:
Step 1: Login to your account.
Step 2: Navigate to Disaster Recovery from the left sidebar and select the Replications tab.

Step 3: Click Create Replication.

A 5-step configuration wizard will appear.
Step 4: Configure Replication Basics
Replication Name: Enter a unique name for the replication plan.
Retention Period: Define the duration for which backup data is retained before deletion.
Time Unit: Days, Weeks, or Months.
Duration: Numerical value (minimum: 1 day).

Step 5: Configure Recovery Point Objective (RPO)
RPO defines how often backups are taken, representing the maximum acceptable data loss.
A default backup frequency is provided.
To add a new frequency:
Click Add Frequency.
Configure:
Backup Type: Incremental or Full.
Interval & Duration: Choose Minutes, Hours, or Days.
If Days is selected: set Daily Backup Time (Hour, Minute, AM/PM).
Added entries will appear in the frequency table.

Step 6: Define Instance Group
Select one or more active compute instances to protect.
Multiple instances can be grouped under a single replication.
Only active instances are shown.

Step 7: Configure Target Details
Define the environment where replication will be restored:
Security Group(s) – Select one or more.
VPC(s) – Choose the target Virtual Private Cloud.
Flavor – Pick the required compute specs (CPU/RAM).
Key Pair – Required for non-Windows flavors. All fields are mandatory.

Step 8: Review & Create
A summary screen displays your configuration.
Review details carefully.
Click Submit to create the replication.

Note: Once created, the system will automatically trigger the first backup.
Step 9: After submitting, the new replication will appear in the Replications tab.

This view helps track the overall progress and health of your replication plan.
